Kingston, New York
Kingston, New York was founded in 1652 by the Dutch and was New York State's First Capital. In 2002, Kingston celebrated it's 350th Anniversary of it's settlement. * Yes, Rondout is the correct spelling, it's an old Dutch name for "fort". The Rondout Creek was named for the Dutch settler's original fort as was the Village of Rondout, which later merged with Kingston in 1872.
