Public Transportation and Commuter Driving
The campus is located with easy proximity to major buslines, major highways, the Amtrack Railroad just across the river, and four airports both nearby and within a 45 minute drive (see From the Air). Getting employees to work and customers to visit your business in TechCity couldn't be easier.
Businesses locating in TechCity can be assured that mass transit and commuter options are varied and flexible. In addition to bus transportation, the campus is right next to the New York Thruway which runs north and south, and Route 209 which runs east and connects to the Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge and Route 9. The Taconic Parkway also is five minutes away to the east. Because the New York Thruway is connected to the New Jersey highway system, travel is very fast to the south. To the North, the Thruway connects to Albany and then east to Mass or west to Buffalo, New York. Both New York and New Jersey use the E-Z Pass toll system which makes commuting easy. (see EZ-Pass - then see this E-Z Pass Map of major other state highways that connect to the New York Thruway which runs past the campus and that are part of the E-Z Pass Network).
The bus system from The Ulster County Rural Transportation (UCRT) offers safe, affordable, reliable public bus transportation service throughout Ulster County. All routes can provide wheelchair accessible service with at least 24 hours advance notice under most circumstances. See UCRT for further information or call 845.340.3333.
The National Amtrack train system has a station right across the river in Rhinecliff (See RhineCliff Station) so anyone coming to TechCity can be off a train and be here in five minutes by cab.
