Telecommunications
TechCity is served by a Verizon (fomerly Bell Atlantic) central office located on the periphery of the campus (you can walk to it). Large volumes of data can be handled by an infrastructure that includes the diversity of both fiber optic and copper lines. There are seven T-3 lines on Fiber, fifty-six(56) T-1 lines on fiber, Fifty (50) T-1 lines on copper, and in excess of 4000 POTS (plain old telephone service) lines. Also available are to (2) 400 pair cables that are a direct feed from the Bell Atlantic central office. Voice Services to a PBX or VOIP to the Central Switch and Call Center applications can benefit from fast deployment, low installation timeframes, low fixed incremental costs as your voice requirements grow, and dedicated Verizon personnel to assure maximum voice reliabilty for critical call center applications such as 911 or global call center, corporate computer support. Excellant voice service is available to both large and small tenants.
TechCity is also served by fiberoptic cable from Hudson Valley DataNet, a highly regarded regional fiber provider/utility. This fiber, which is lit and unlit, can be connected to wide area fiber networks and national/global carriers for global corporate telecommunications. Some of this fiber is lit at OC-192 (10 Gigabit) and OC-48 (2.4 Gigabit) and in redundant SONET rings and Gigabit Metro Ethernet and can be stepped down and connected to campus copper or fiber if required. Imagine.com Telecommunications, Inc., a TechCity tenant, provides telecommunications consulting onsite. Imagine.com is a Telecommunications/IP consultant and a focused ISP, (BISP-Building ISP) providing High Speed Internet Access to TechCity tenants. Imagine.com can help facilitate your telecommunications requirements by working with the various carriers to provision T1s, DS3s, PRIs, and to meet high availability requirements. In the special cases of disaster recovery sites, Imagine.com can work with your disaster recovery team to achieve the most fault tolerant, sophisticated, telecommunication design. Imagine.com can also provide extended demark via fiber for various applications and provide as built circuit engineering diagrams to clients on bound hardcopy and via it's Trellis Online Interactive Documentation Database.
TechCity also has an activated, operational Microwave Tower, which can host additional dishes and antennae. Secure satellite dish areas are available on the grounds if required for a sizeable cable headend or corporate satellite broadcast center. These would be have to be setup. The site has very good satellite visability.
